The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), published annually by Transparency International, assesses the perceived levels of public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories. The index scores countries on a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 represents high corruption and 100 signifies a very clean public sector. The CPI is a globally recognized benchmark for transparency and anti-corruption efforts.
The 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index was recently published. According to the latest report, Cyprus has a CPI score of 56, ranking 46th globally. This marks an improvement of three points and a rise of three places compared to the previous year, where Cyprus had a score of 53 and was ranked 49th.
