ICR

An Integrated Casino Resort (ICR) traditionally brings together a high quality hotel with a casino, convention centre, entertainment shows, theme parks, luxury retail and fine dining.

The first ICR in Cyprus is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2021. Following international competition, the licence was awarded to ‘Integrated Casino Resorts Cyprus Limited’ (ICRC), comprising the Asian-based Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd and The Cyprus Phassouri (Zakaki) Ltd (member of the CNS Group). Melco is bringing its ‘City of Dreams’ brand to Cyprus.

Construction on the ICR is under way in Zakaki, Limassol. It comprises a five star hotel, 11 restaurants and cafes, wellness facilities, a sports centre, swimming pools, retail areas, an outdoor amphitheatre, green areas and a convention centre comprising 9,600 square metres. Investment is in the region of €500 million. The resort is expected to attract an additional 300,000 visitors to Cyprus each year. It will be licensed to operate at least 1000 gaming machines and more than 100 gaming tables. Upon completion it will support over 4,000 employees.

The project also includes the operation of a temporary casino in Limassol, which opened on 28 June 2018, as well as four satellite casinos in Nicosia, Larnaca, the free Famagusta area and Paphos. The temporary casino will close on the day on which the ICR formally opens.

Individuals under the age of twenty one (21) will not be permitted to play any casino games or gaming machines nor attend or approach any gaming equipment or gaming tables on the ICR premises. Also, they are not allowed to enter the temporary casino or the four satellite casinos.
