EU Amends Sanctions on Banned Media Outlets

The Council of the European Union adopted Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/701 which amends restrictive measures imposed on Russia for seeking to destabilize Ukraine.

The amended regulation aligns with the EU’s earlier decision to suspend the broadcasting activities of certain designated media outlets.

In particular, the regulation sets April 9, 2025, as the date that the restrictive measures against the designees enter into effect.
