The Council of the European Union adopted Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2008 to amend restrictive measures against serious human rights violators.
The amended regulation takes into account the EU’s concern about the disproportionate effect that armed conflicts have on women and girls worldwide, and the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence.
In light of these ongoing concerns, the EU added four persons and two entities to the sanctions list.
